Лишишь (to deprive) explores tailoring through minimalistic and architectural silhouettes. Inspiration from brutalist architecture contributes to the collection's visual weight and texture and pushes the direction towards geometric forms. Brutalism also informs the somber and understated tone of the collection. More flowing style lines have been inspired by a formalized interpretation of fitted technical sportswear. Repetition of elements and materials creates cohesiveness throughout the collection. Like soldiers standing in rank, uniformity elevates the group, creating strength in numbers of a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Practicing restraint places importance on material texture and finishing details, which emerge out of otherwise subdued backgrounds. High necklines and slim fits create physical restraint, enveloping the body. This embrace coerces formality out of the wearer, lending to the serious tone. Emphasis on technical minimalism has allowed me to challenge myself in terms of construction, fit, and finishing, and driven restrained but sculptural silhouettes.
