Antler Bags

**This summer, I worked on creating what I have been calling "Antler Bags". They are up-cycled bags that I have used a small, shed, deer antler to create a handle. It fits nicely over the shoulder because of the curve. Since sharing them, I have been able to create them for friends and clients.**

The push in raw, natural materials in fashion has been clear in the past few seasons. Fur is back - if you’re really on the rapid trend cycle, you’ve put down the city bag and picked up a mombasa. I started thinking about how all of these materials and motifs are actually used to create garments and accessories. They’re often sanded down, cut into a pattern, or simply replaced using synthetics. In wanting to push back against this while leaning into the grotesque imagery I learned to love through Alexander McQueen, I created the antler bag.
